Dothan man sought in attack on police officer

Patrol officer responding to drug complaint assaulted, hospitalized
Dothan police are searching for a man who they say assaulted an officer Friday night. The person sought is identified as Demingus Humphrey, 19, who court records show has an extensive criminal history.

The assault of the officer, whose name has not been released, took place along the northern part of Ross Clark Circle. The patrolman, according to those familiar with the situation, was responding to a complaint about possible illegal drug activity. He is hospitalized for injuries he suffered.

Court records show Humphrey has previous arrests for drugs, burglary, and other charges. He should be considered armed and dangerous.
