The Disabled American Veterans Post in Dothan is in desperate need of a new van. They use their van to take veterans to medical appointments in Montgomery and Tuskegee twice a week.

The van has more than 300,000 miles on it.  A new van costs about $30,000 and the national office will only cover half of the costs.

The DAV’s commander Samuel Williams said they need to come up with the other $15,000 by December 6th in order to get the van by next year. If they don't raise the money it could be another year before they get a new van. “Without the van we will have a lot of veterans who wouldn’t have transportation to their appointments," said Williams

If you would like to make a donation to the DAV just stop by their office in Mixson Business Center off Main Street.
