Three people are dead and two others injured after a crash in Covington County on Sunday.
Three people are dead and two others were injured after a one-vehicle accident Sunday in Covington County.

Alabama State Troopers say it happened around 10 p.m. on Sunday night on Covington County 31, or about five miles south of Andalusia.

Matthew Kenneth Douglas, 30, of Andalusia and passengers Ryan Gibson, 2, and Jordan Gibson, 3, both from Swansea, S.C., all were killed in the crash.  Troopers say the 2000 Dodge that Douglas was driving left the roadway and overturned.

Two other passengers, Jessica Gibson, 25, and 7-year-old Haley Gibson, both of Swansea, S.C., were transported to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Troopers say seat belts and child restraints were not in use at the time of the crash. All of the vehicle’s occupants were ejected.

The accident remains under investigation.
