Seminars provide small businesses with insights into working with federal government

Troy University’s Small Business Development Center will offer free seminars in Auburn and Phoenix City for small businesses wanting to do business with the federal government.
TROY – Troy University’s Small Business Development Center will offer free seminars in Auburn and Phenix City for small businesses wanting to do business with the federal government.

The seminars, “Small Business Certifications for Government Contractors,” will cover the 8(a) Business Development Program and the HUBZone Program, including the qualifications to participate, the application processes and the benefits of the programs in government contracting. Representatives from the U.S. Small Business Administration District Office in Birmingham will serve as presenters for the programs.

The Auburn event will be held Aug. 19 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Auburn Business Incubator, 570 Devall Drive, while the Phenix City event will be held Aug. 20 from 10 a.m. to noon in room A302, Adams Building on Troy University’s Phenix City Campus.

The events are also sponsored by the Alabama Procurement Technical Assistance Center and the Center for International Business and Economic Development.
