Finebaum broadcasts program from WOOF studios

Finebaum admits getting some stares when he suggested making Dothan a stop on his current book tour.
Sports radio talk show host Paul Finebaum broadcast his radio program Thursday from the studios of WOOF Radio “The Ball.”

Station manager Leigh Simpson said she was notified this week that Finebaum wanted to use their broadcast facilities. WOOF is a Finebaum affiliate and airs his program daily. Talkin’ Sports with Phil Paramore ended its broadcast 30 minutes earlier than usual to allow Finebaum to begin his call in program at 1:00.

Finebaum—who works the new SEC Network and ESPN--admits getting some stares when he suggested making Dothan a stop on his current book tour. However, he said the city is a very special place and remembers a warm reception he received when participating in a fundraiser here about two years ago.

Finebaum appeared Thursday night at 2nd & Charles to sign copies of his new book “My Conference Can Beat Your Conference: Why the SEC Still Rules College Football.” The book is co-written by ESPN's Gene Wojciechowski and published by Harper Collins.
