Trooper, two others shot in gunfire exchange

“(The officer) is in good condition after suffering a gunshot wound to the chest,” State Representative Donnie Chesteen posted on his Facebook page after visiting Phillips at the hospital.
Two people are in custody after an exchange of gunfire left them and an Alabama state trooper wounded. The incident apparently occurred after the officer, identified as Lee “Marcell” Phillips, attempted to make traffic stop along Geneva County highway 57 near Hartford.

It is believed one person was taken into custody almost immediately while the other was captured a short time later. Both the trooper and suspects were taken to Flowers Hospital in Dothan.

“(The officer) is in good condition after suffering a gunshot wound to the chest,” State Representative Donnie Chesteen posted on his Facebook page after visiting Phillips at the hospital. Chesteen noted the two suspects are also at the hospital but did not disclose their condition if he is aware.

The two people shot by the trooper are Dylan Raski and Zachary Wood according to an article appearing in The Dothan Eagle that quotes Trooper Kevin Cook, Public Information Officer of the Alabama Department of Public Safety.
