Trooper shot after making traffic stop in Geneva County

It’s believed at least one person has been taken into custody but another is being sought.
An Alabama State Trooper was shot late Saturday afternoon after making a traffic stop in Geneva County. It’s believed that two people are now in custody in connection with the shooting.

rooper Lee “Marcell” Phillips was shot according to multiple sources. He is described as doing well while undergoing treatment at Flowers Hospital. “He is in good condition after suffering a gunshot wound to the shoulder,” State Rep. Donnie Chesteen wrote in a Facebook post.

Chesteen said the two people arrested are also hospitalized though the nature and extent of their injuries are not known at this time.
