Dothan grocery stores hit by copper thief

Over $50,000 worth of damage done at three stores.
Dothan police have made a felony arrest following a recent investigation into the theft and destruction of property from several local grocery stores.

Investigators say that between August 24th and August 31st of 2014, Josef Jahn III stole copper materials from the air conditioning and refrigeration units of the “Food Depot” located at 1357 Fortner Street, the Piggly Wiggly” located at 767 West Selma Street and the “Piggly Wiggly” located at 1140 Montgomery Highway.

Property damage totaling over $54,000 was committed during the three thefts. Police have charged Jahn, 30, of Brougham Court with foru counts of first degree theft of property and two counts of first degree criminal mischief.

Bonds have been set and total $52,500.00.

All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
