“A construction crew hit the line,” said Dothan Fire Department Battalion Chief Chris Etheredge
A ruptured gas line forced the evacuation of four homes Tuesday morning in east Dothan. “A construction crew hit the line,” said Dothan Fire Department Battalion Chief Chris Etheredge.
East Burdeshaw Street was closed from Plant Street eastward for a short distance until repairs can be made. Fire, police, and ambulance units dispatched to the scene as a precautionary measure. Nobody was injured or overcome by fumes.
“We anticipate it will take about an hour or so to repair the line. When that is done the people evacuated will be allowed to return home,” Etheredge said.
