Man ordered to prison for raping a young child

Donald E. Lacy to serve 99 years
A Panama City man has been ordered to serve 99 years in prison for the rape of a young girl. Donald Emory Lacey, 43, had been indicted by a grand jury of Rape 1st degree in connection with his alleged actions against a ten year old girl. He was arrested in July, 2013 at a motel in his hometown.

Police say the rape occurred when Lacey and the victim, who is from southwest Alabama, were both were staying in Dothan. He was convicted by a jury in January and ordered to jail pending the sentencing hearing held Tuesday before Houston County Circuit Judge Butch Binford.

Lacey is expected to be transferred to a prison within a few days.
