Company that operates Dothan clinic to shell out over $1-million for overcharging

Will pay government after claims processor blew whistle
A chain of walk in clinics, including a Dothan location, must pay the federal government $1.2 million to settle it charged too much for its services.

American Family Care siphoned off millions of dollars by entering codes on billing statements that brought excessive reimbursements according to an article appearing on the website AL.com. Among the agencies that were overcharged are Medicare and Medicaid.

A claims processor who blew the whistle on AFC will receive about $204,000 that represents about $18,000 of the settlement.
