Auburn's Harrell and Kentucky's Harrison earn weekly SEC basketball honors

Auburn’s KT Harrell, a 6-foot-4, 216-pound junior small forward from Montgomery, Ala., was named SEC Player of the Week after averaging 21.5 ppg on 57.7 percent shooting from the field and 53.8 percent shooting from beyond the arc in leading the Tigers to wins over Clemson and Boston College last week.

Against Boston College he scored a career-high 29 points on 10-for-17 shooting, which include a career-high six 3-pointers, which tied for the most-ever 3-pointers made by an Auburn player under the direction of Coach Tony Barbee.

Harrell scored 16 points in 16 minutes of action in the first half against BC, hitting 6-of-7 from the field and 4-for-5 from 3-point range. He has now scored in double-figures in each of Auburn’s first nine games

Kentucky’s Aaron Harrison, a 6-foot-6, 218-pound freshman guard from Richmond, Texas, was named SEC Freshman of the Week after scoring 23 points to go with seven assists and six rebounds in a win over Belmont. Harrison has scored 20 or more points in consecutive games and four times this season. He dished out a career-high seven assists while coming within one board of tying his career-best with six rebounds. He converted eight of his 11 free throw attempts.
