Wallace Community College recently graduated six students from the Ready to Work program. Students earning certificates were Carol Cooper, Rebecca Nations, Jamie Taylor, Sean Vierkandt, Maribel Wright, and Paul Wright. All six students are from Dothan. The Ready to Work program includes training in basic computer skills, problem solving skills, workplace behaviors, job acquisition techniques, and training for the National Career Readiness Certificate test. Successful completers earn an “Alabama Certified Worker” (ACW) Certificate and a State of Alabama “Career Readiness Credential” (CRC). Participants must be at least 17 years old, possess a high school diploma or GED, and are actively seeking employment and/or plan to attend college or vocational training classes. The eight-week program is offered four times per year in both Eufaula and Dothan. The next Ready to Work classes are scheduled to begin January 26 and March 30.
