A Houston County judge has refused to lower bond for a convicted sex offender accused of living in his girlfriend’s home with her three minor children.

Xavier Poke had sought a reduction of his $60,000 bond but Circuit Judge Kevin Moulton denied the request.

Court records indicate Poke, 33, was arrested November 21, 2013 on charges he violated the Community Notification Act. The notifications are mandatory for those who commit sex crimes.

Court records show Poke was convicted in 2004 of attempting rape in Houston County and arrested in 2009 for another alleged violation of notification laws.

In the latest case, Poke is accused of residing with his girlfriend and her minor children at a home on Hamilton Street in Dothan.

His trial is set for next month.
