A Dothan man was killed and several others injured Monday in a Jackson County traffic accident. The Florida Highway Patrol said Willis Rambo, Sr. was killed in the single vehicle crash on U.S. 231 near Compass Lake.

Trooper Joe Hardy said a Chevrolet Avalanche was traveling in the south bound lane with five people inside. The driver was pulling from the median when he over corrected causing the vehicle to overturn multiple times.

"We pulled up onto the scene we saw an overturned car and saw two people on the ground, both injured pretty badly injured,” Kim Tederous from Marietta, GA told WMBB. "We noticed there was somebody stuck in the car so my husband grabbed something from the car and another trucker grabbed something from his car and started banging out the windshield."

The others traveling in the vehicle, all from Dothan, were taken to the hospital for treatment.
