Officers claim Andrew Nazworth was wanted for failing to register as a sex offender. Deputies went to his most recent known address at 2914 Wakulla Avenue on Panama City Beach and knocked on the door. Rachel Detamore answered and when asked if Nazworth was in the home she answered "I think so" and shut the door.
Deputies called out for another person in the home to open the door and they did. The deputy spoke again to Detamore asking for Nazworth and explaining there was a warrant for his arrest. Detamore told the deputy that Nazworth had run out the back of the home. The deputy went into a bedroom area, calling out for Nazworth to come out because he was under arrest.
Nazworth, age 29, was found hiding in a closet next to the bedroom. He was arrested for Resisting Arrest without Violence, Failing to Register as a Sex Offender and Violation of Probation Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.
Upon a search incident to arrest, the deputy found a syringe in Nazworth's right front pocket. Nazworth denied having any condition which would require he use a syringe. He was additionally charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
When asked if Rachel Detamore knew he was hiding in the closet, Nazworth said "yes". Detamore, age 44, of 1724 Moylan Road, Panama City Beach, was also arrested for Resisting an Officer without Violence.
Nazworth was on violent felony offender probation and is considered a high risk Sex Offender. Nazworth told the deputy he cut off his ankle monitor and left it on the grounds of the Probation and Parole Office so he would not receive an additional charge for taking the device.
He and Detamore were booked into the Bay County Jail.
