New drug program in Ozark raises questions

Alabama teen challenge is planning on adding it's sixth program location in Ozark. The program focuses on helping individuals who suffer from drug and alcohol addiction.
While some residents have concerns about the program, others have seen first hand the success it can bring.
Ozark Mayor Bob Bunting says one of his current employees attended the program and is now getting a second chance,
Alabama Teen Challenge purchased Mayme Thompkins in 2015  and many Ozark residents are questioning the location since it is right in their backyard.
Bunting says the community had many chances to speak up,
In October of 2015, letters were sent to the residents living near the location with no responses.
In November in 2015 an open house was held by the program where no community members expressed concerns.
There was a board meeting following this and again no citizens were opposed.
At this point in time there has not been a final decision made on the outcome of the program.
There will be a city council meeting held in October where citizens will again be given the opportunity to voice any concerns.
