TROY, Ala. - On March 6, Gary Lee Pergler's neighbors noticed a change at his home. The door was shut, the blinds were not open, and he was not on his porch waving to them as they drove by.
The Troy Police Department was called and an investigation began. On March 10, his body was found on County Road 2274, nearly 30 miles from his home.
During the investigation, five people were of interest, three of whom lived with Pergler. One of whom is 29-year-old Ashlee Beebe who is the mother of Pergler's child, neither had custody at the time of the murder.
Beebe along with 27-year-old Jason Michael Schultz and 24-year-old Jessica Mae Furtado were arrested and charged with one count of Hindering Prosecution 1st degree. They were all incarcerated in the Pike County Jail with a bond was set at $5,000.00 each.

Prior to sitting in jail for connection to Pergler's murder, Beebe had recently just gotten out of jail for other charges. While in jail she met 29-year-old Robert Raymond Johnson, and began a relationship with him.
Days after Johnson and Beebe were released from jail, Pergler went missing.
Johnson was arrested and charged with murder. Along with Johnson, 43-year-old Pat Dickey Jr. was also arrested and charged with murder. Dickey had a relationship with Beebe and Johnson, which lead to his involvement.
New information was uncovered by investigators at the Troy Police Department and it was presented to the Pike County District Attorney's Office.
On Wednesday, March 21, the Pike County District Attorney filed to dismiss charges against Johnson.
The same charges that were dismissed were then charged to Beebe.
Beebe, along with Dickey, remain in the Pike County Jail with a bond set at $100,000 for the murder of Gary Lee Pergler.
