DOTHAN, AL – This year’s national nursing home week theme “Living the Aloha Spirit “ focuses on the meaning of patience, kindness, respect and compassion. Wesley Manor shows this love, respect and joy for each resident in order to create a better community. Home to more than 200 residents, Wesley Manor offers an environment specially designed to care for the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of its residents.

The goal in long term nursing care is to always provide person-centered care in a harmonious, caring environment. Embracing this “Aloha-Centeredness” each day casts a warm glow throughout Wesley Manor for its residents and employees. This is unlike what many previously thought of as “Grandma’s nursing home.” Today’s nursing home is person-centered for health, personal care, and spiritual enrichment.

The community is invited to join Wesley Manor employees and residents as they celebrate the Aloha Spirit with daily festivities to celebrate this special week.

The week kicks off with Mayor Mike Schmitz presenting a proclamation to Wesley Manor from The City of Dothan declaring national nursing home week on Monday, May 12, 10:30 am, in the main lobby of Wesley Manor.

Other activities include the annual Mrs. Wesley Manor Pageant on Tuesday, May 13, 3 p.m., in the main lobby area of Wesley Manor. The winner of this pageant will go on to represent Wesley Manor at the state competition.

Employees and residents will get in the “Aloha Spirit” with a luau cook-out, fun and games on Wednesday, May 14, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Thursday, May 15, will conclude the week of festivities with Disguise Day—wearing a look or attire of someone else.

Wesley Manor celebrates life, values relationships, and embraces teamwork. Call 334-792-0921 for information about Wesley Manor where life is celebrated.
