Troy University's John M. Long School of Music to host Summer Music/Leadership Camp

TROY – Nearly 400 eighth through 12th grade band students will visit Troy University June 15-19 as the John M. Long School of Music plays host to its annual “Sound of the South” Summer Music/Leadership Camp.

The camp on the University’s Troy Campus will offer classes in percussion ensemble, majorette, dance line, color guard, drum major and concert band/theory.

The camp will begin at 4 p.m. on June 15 with an opening assembly in the Claudia Crosby Theater on the Troy Campus. The camp will conclude on Thursday, June 19 with a Camp Show and Awards Ceremony in Sartain Hall, beginning at 12:45 p.m.

Instructors include Adam Blackstock, Candace Hawes, Terrance Cobb, Calvin Scott and Trent Burkett.
