Storm damage forces two schools to close in Limestone County

LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. -- (WAAY) Storm damage was left behind in Limestone County after a strong storm passed through Thursday night.

In the area of Lucys Branch, the roof of the Bay Village Condos blew off and landed on 2 cars. Witnesses say they heard loud noises and saw hail. The power is currently out in the area, and no injuries were reported.

7 power poles snapped along HWY 72 near Clements High School. Crews are working on clearing the road and restoring power.

Clements High School and Blue Springs Elementary will be closed on Friday due to the power issues caused by the storm. Clements High School had some structural damage to the building and around the football field.

There were also reports of trees down on Hobbs Street and Shilling Street.
