It’s a live concert series you can bring your children to, and it's happening this weekend.

The Rock the Market Music Concert Series in Dothan will take place at Saint Andrew’s Market in Dothan this Saturday, August 9, from noon until midnight.

The family-friendly, alcohol-free event will feature all types of live music, with performances from local bands.  Wrist bands will be provided for all-day access to the event.

Chad "Chig" Martin and the Alabama Outlaws, Sweet Honey Hospitality and RTF are just a few of several groups to take the stage.

It's for all ages, just before many children in the area head back to school.

The venue will host eight food vendors, a coffee shop and bakery, and organizers say the event is the first of its kind in Dothan.

"One of the things that we had noticed over the years is we were not able to play in front of young people, mainly due to the venues that we had to play in to make a living doing this,” said Chad Martin, co-organizer of the Rock the Market Concert Series.  So we came up with the concept of Rock the Market, which has no profanity or innuendos of any kind made by artists."

Children 12 and under get in free. Tickets are $20.00 in advance and $25.00 at the door.
