The Houston County Water Authority will be receiving an $80,000 appropriation.

Much of the Authority's financial struggles were caused when lines were run to Country Crossing.
The venue was forced to close and now as Center Stage Alabama, the operation is doing far less business than expected.

So, the County Commission is guaranteeing bonds to help keep the water authority viable.

"We're not going to pull the rug out from underneath the Water Authority," Commission Chairman Mark Culver said. "They serve the public and we want everyone that's on the system to know that when they turn the water on that they'll get water adn we want to make sure the authority stays viable."

Culver said they'll have to continue helping the Water Authority until revenues increase.
