Enterprise YMCA holds 40th "Y" Day on Saturday

The Enterprise YMCA is celebrating its 48th anniversary at "Y" Day on Saturday, April 28.

Complete with food, games and fellowship, the event is a way for the community to take part in and learn about some of the services the "Y'' has to offer.

It's been decades since the enterprise YMCA had its first "Y" Day and on Saturday it will have its 40th.

The event is open to all and will have plenty of activities.

"Games, dunking booth, moon walk," said YMCA Executive Director Richard Pipkin.

Kids from the "Y", musical groups from Enterprise Schools, and many others will provide entertainment.

There will also be a 5k run, leisure swim at the pool and BBQ sandwiches available for pickup.

"Thank the hundred volunteers that help us everyday for "Y" Day," said Pipkin.

The YMCA receives its revenue three ways: programs, memberships and contributions.

The event is another  way for the organization to be able to provide its services to the the community.

"Without the wonderful people in Enterprise and surrounding area, we would not be able to offer the quality Christian programs that we do offer," said Pipkin.

"Y" Day will begin tomorrow morning at  7:30  with the 5k run registration and the soccer tournament will begin at 8 a.m. on the soccer fields.
