A convicted sex offender has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for violating Alabama’s Community Notification law. Xavier Poke, 30, asked Houston County Circuit Judge Kevin Moulton to place him on probation. A hearing on the request was set next month.

Poke pleaded guilty Friday to illegally residing with his girlfriend and her three minor children. Moulton sentenced him to 15 years on each f the four charges but ordered they could be served concurrently which essentially means Poke has a single sentence of 15 years.

Poke was arrested November 21, 2013 on the latest charges. Court records show Poke was convicted in 2004 of attempting rape in Houston County and arrested in 2009 for another alleged violation of state notification laws.
