Daughter of longtime news anchor dies in traffic accident

The daughter of a longtime Dothan television news anchor was killed this week in a Panama City traffic accident. Florida state troopers say Tawny LeAnne Williams Carlisle, 44, died a short time after the car she was driving was struck Monday by a pickup truck on Panama City Parkway, also known as Back Beach Road.

Carlisle was the daughter of John Williams who served many years as WTVY’s main news anchor. Williams died in 2011.

A memorial service will be held 6 pm Thursday, August 28, 2014 at the Holiday Golf Club in Panama City, FL. Funeral services will be held 11 am Friday, August 29, 2014 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel in Dothan with Rev. Jeff Thomas and Rev. Bill Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am prior to the service at the funeral home.

Tawny is survived by her husband, Jim Carlisle; her son, Garrett; her daughter, Hannah; mother, Ellen Williams; twin sister, Tracy (Randy) Thomas; brother, Patrick Williams; sister-in-law, Debbie (Steve) Childree; and brother-in-law Jeff Carlisle.
