Dog Friendly Park at Eastgate will open Saturday at 9:00 a.m.

The city received a grant on the project back in 2013 and have been working on the park for 6 months. There are two separate areas for large and small dogs. Tunnels and jumps are also throughout the space for the dogs to use.

For people there are picnic tables, a pavilion, and new bathrooms.

“I think that these kind of parks know what they're doing and they know what dogs like to do. So, we hope everyone will bring their dog and just have a great time out there at the park,” said Kim Meeker with Dothan Leisure Services.
