"It's a wonderful thing,” said Reverend John Belcher, founder and executive director of Christian Mission Centers. “God said if you start a mission, I'll bless many people. This is just another of promises that God is bringing about right before our eyes."
It's a $300,000.00 project for a new building. Rev. Belcher said they worked hard to raise $100,000.00 of that amount, and a loan will cover the rest.
"We're going to be able to more efficiently in-process the donations that are donated to the Christian Mission Centers. That means more profit," Rev. Belcher said.
The profit will help them continue serving the needy and supporting their other ministries, like hot meals for the homeless, shelters and their rehabilitation program.
"We started off with just one building, we add on, and add on, and on, and each time it grows, I see more of the Lord's work in this community,” said Christian Mission Bargain Center Co-Manager Patricia Pritchard. “The Lord is trying to say, 'Come on. Be part of my fellowship, be part of my children. Come and join the family.'"
Pritchard has seen lots of changes during her 26 years working for the organization, and she said it's more than just a charity. It's a divine mission.
"We help with everybody that needs God's love. We're willing to do God's job and help him to continue this on earth."
Rev. Belcher said construction crews will lay the foundation this week, and the building should be completed within three months.
