Enterprise city officials and company representatives official unveiled the name change from Alabama Aircraft Support to Arista Aviation at a press conference held at the Enterprise Municipal Airport.
"As we stand here today with 75 employees,” Enderle said. “We look forward to growing this to 250 to 350, and it will be rapid growth, all right here in this facility."
"This is going to the next level, not only the department of state, but we will also be seeking other contracts, and this facility was planned to be able to go out and attract those additional contracts," said Enterprise Mayor Kenneth Boswell.
They broke ground on the Aircraft Support Hangar, a 12 million dollar facility with more than 60,000 square feet, in January. Company officials say the business could expand within the next few years, and city officials say it could have an annual impact in the Wiregrass of 18 million dollars.
"With this name change, Arista really means excellence in aviation, and I think that people will see that it will attract new industry and understand Arista doesn't really signify one particular location. It signifies more of a global brand,” said Jonathan Tullos, executive director of the Wiregrass Economic Development Corporation.
Officials say the construction of the hangar should be completed by the end of the month, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony is planned for the end of October.
