Former Houston County Sheriff Andy Hughes is looking to get his old job back. Hughes made the announcement earlier today on social media.
"I would like to officially announce my candidacy for the office of Houston County Sheriff. Much was accomplished during my first two terms as Sheriff. I feel that with my professional experience and my capable and effective style of leadership I am the best candidate to again serve as your Sheriff during these ever changing and turbulent times we are facing today. A Sheriff must be many things to many people; a leader, an administrator, a communicator, a counselor, a protector of individual rights and a friend just to name a few. I look forward to the opportunity to serve you again as your Sheriff."
Hughes first won the office back in 2006 and served almost two terms before taking a job in Montgomery with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
