Today Bell Helicopter finished an almost year long project building 5 Huey II helicopters that will be sent to Uganda.
Community members came out to see the helicopters take flight for the final time over the city and support the men and women who built them.
Over 200 employees of Bell Helicopter here in Ozark have been working on the helicopters for the past year preparing them for flight.
The helicopters took flight making two passes overhead before leaving for Huntsville where they will be put on a plane and flown over sea's to be used by the Uganda military.
The Bell Huey II's are used for different missions including troop transport into high altitudes, medical evacuation, and transport to and from remote bases.
Bell Helicopter supplies jobs for hundreds in the Wiregrass with the purpose of constructing these aircrafts that are sold worldwide.
