The Dothan Education Foundation and the Dothan Houston County Library System are partnering this summer in an effort to help local children go back to school with supplies. Starting July 28th, both Dothan Library locations will be accepting school supplies and they will be distributed by the Dothan Education Foundation.

Citizens can take this opportunity to get involved with public education. No donation is too small. All items will be sent to the schools and will be distributed among classrooms. Students’ and teachers’ wish lists include basic school supplies, such as paper, crayons, scissors, pencils, pens, glue, markers, folders, and erasers, as well as other items used in classrooms every day including tissues and hand sanitizer.
Donations may be brought to the downtown library location at 445 North Oates Street or the Westgate location 535 Recreation Drive, Monday – Sunday. Interested parties are encouraged to check library hours of operation as they may vary. Supplies will be accepted now through Sunday, August 24th.
