Valencia Jones

- Valencia Jones began her reporting career at WDHN in January 2014. Born in Houston, Texas, she grew up in Spring, Texas and completed a bachelor’s degree in Communications at the University of Houston. She earned a master's degree in Broadcast and Digital Journalism from Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.

While at Syracuse, she interned at WETM-TV in Elmira, New York and also reported from Washington, D.C. as an intern for KMID-TV Big 2 News in Midland, Texas. There, she covered national stories targeting the West Texas region.

She is excited to pursue her passion for meeting people from all walks of life, sharing their stories, keeping the community informed and being a strong voice for the voiceless.

In her spare time, she loves volunteering, traveling, spending time with family and friends, reading, listening to great music, or you might catch her browsing at the mall. She also has a passion for color guard and drum corp performances. And of course, she enjoys sampling a variety of exceptional and exotic foods.

Dothan folks, if you happen to see Valencia out and about, feel free to stop and say hello. She'd love to meet you! Any and all story ideas are welcome. Send them her way! Email:
